Work With Me
How I Work
My approach is simple.
First, I listen to gather information on what it is you want to communicate. I want to learn about your values and what's important to you. I want to hear your side, understand what you hope to accomplish and discuss how the communication strategy or content we create will support your business goals.
As you talk, I’ll also be listening for what you’re not telling me to see whether we can uncover potential issues or holes in the story that you may be too close to see or that are percolating below the surface.
Then, I'll spend some time researching the larger environment (the competitive and stakeholder landscape) surrounding your business in order to provide a more complete view of the situation.
Once I'm done gathering data identifying the "what," the "why," and the "who," I work with you to create and implement a plan of action.
If you believe in the value that comes from investing as much in your communication strategy as you would other parts of your business plan, then you and I will get along great. If you're not sure, I can help you understand.
If you're looking for a committed partner to help develop and implement a communication strategy, then I'm that partner.
If you’re tired of plans based on templated formulas, limp messages and empty marketing speak, I have a methodology that will help us find your voice based on what's most important to you.
If you need to prepare your team and/or organization for a communication crisis and don’t know where to start, I'm expert at framing complicated issues.
If you're currently IN a communication crisis and need help or inspiration, I excel under pressure.
If you're open to someone telling you the truth in a respectful way so that we can get on with the hard work of deciding how your communication strategy can be more effective, I'm known for my compassion and my candor.
If your current media relations strategies aren’t quite working the way you want and you need a fresh perspective, let me know.
Finally, if you don’t mind metaphors drawn from boxing, endurance running, fishing, improv, music or whatever else is currently inspiring me, I can definitely offer you a new way of looking at a situation.
